Late afternoon in the sleepy provencal village of Blauvac, 45 min east of Avignon, this vista of hills and vineyards was so stunning. I quickly did the colors of the sky as it was going to change first. An unforgettable experience painting here. Gradually the locals came out of their homes to see what I was doing. Exclamations of praise (in French) as I was documenting the beautiful vista that they see daily. The church bells rang at 6:00. One man brought out an icon painting that he did to show me. If I ever wanted to live somewhere else, in a quiet, peaceful and beautiful place, this may be it.
